'Democracy in Germany and Europe'



This volume analyses in depth Europes and Germany's past, present, and future. 21 contributions address four crucial topics: European and international political controversies, parties and elections, political extremism and protection against enemies of democracy, the GDR dictatorship and its consequences for the daily life in the GDR. This broad approach to political change has its common denominator in the interpretation of democracy now and in the past. Contributors are PhD candidates of a graduate school of the Hanns-Seidel-Foundation on the topic of 'Democracy in Europe'.
